My name is Rachel Gabrielse, well it used to be. On June 20, 2015 I married my high school sweetheart in the woods with picnic tables and ice cream and almost two hundred of our favorite humans and now I am Rachel Ponstein. However, my business started in 2011 so keeping my maiden name for photography is a special way to hold onto that piece of me.
I will take any excuse to wear a maxi dress and flower crown, but most days you can find me in high waisted pants and big, round rim glasses. Ever since I was a little girl I have had an obsession with juice and soft serve vanilla ice cream cones. Actually, I still carry a juice box in my purse. Chocolate chips are my editing fuel. I prefer hot chocolate over coffee. I shop almost exclusively at H & M and Nike with an occasionally splurge at Madewell.
My newest, most exciting news is that we have a son! Zion Marc is the answer to our prayers and the joy of our lives. He’s got his Daddy’s big blue eyes and sweet countenance and his Momma’s thighs.
You should probably know that I refer to God as Papa. For most of my life I thought I had to earn my worth. It was an exhausting existence until I met this Jesus who whispered that he loved me for who I was and not what I did. Now Papa is the way I refer to this God who gently sings over me and holds me in his mighty arms.
