My grandparents’ marriage was often on the rocks. I grew up hearing whispers of divorce, but it never came. They fought through differences, arguments, and years of strain. When my Grandma was diagnosed with cancer, we saw just how deep their love had grown through the fire. My Grandpa holding her hand as she grew weaker—losing her hair, her strength—revealed a tenderness forged by perseverance. They chose each other until her last breath. I’ll never forget the beauty of that love: messy, imperfect, but unwavering. A love that kept its promise and left a legacy for generations.
