Timeless City Flats Wedding | Grand Rapids, Michigan

Noah and Kristyn chose a warm midsummer day to celebrate their Grand Rapids, Michigan wedding with a ceremony at LaGrave CRC—a place deeply meaningful to Kristyn and her family. Following the ceremony, they celebrated with a reception at the elegant City Flats Ballroom, located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids.

Getting Ready in Downtown Grand Rapids

The morning began at The Canopy by Hilton, where Knockout Agency and KJ & Hairspray served as the beauty team. Kristyn got ready in a chic two-piece satin and lace set, a modern and relaxed start to the day.

One of the most meaningful details was Kristyn’s ring, thoughtfully crafted from a portion of her late grandmother’s wedding ring—a beautiful way to honor family legacy.

Bridal Style & Portraits

Back at LaGrave CRC, Kristyn’s mother helped her into a classic high-neck Anthropologie wedding gown, featuring an elegant draped back. She paired the gown with a cathedral veil from Renee Austin Wedding, completing a refined and timeless bridal look.

Kristyn then shared a first look with Noah outside of LaGrave CRC and we spent time taking portraits outside the church on this beautiful summer day.

Wedding Portraits in Downtown Grand Rapids

When an unexpected event filled the city center with crowds, we pivoted from our original portrait location and found a stunning alternative just down the street from the church. This stately law firm with white columns and black windows fit perfectly with the couple’s vision and color palette.

The bridesmaids wore evening-blue spaghetti strap dresses accented with neck scarves, while the groomsmen wore black suits from Jos. A. Bank, creating a clean, cohesive palette. Second Mile Video was there to capture every moment on film throughout the day.

Reception at CityFlats Ballroom

Guests were welcomed into the CityFlats Ballroom in downtown Grand Rapids by a striking nine-foot welcome sign. Framed photographs of parents and grandparents were displayed upon entering the space, showcasing the deep legacy of love within the family.

A beautifully crafted Victorian-style “Just Married” cutting cake by Nantucket Baking Co. added a charming touch.

An Evening of Celebration & Dancing

The night concluded with a packed dance floor, thanks to Rusch Entertainment, as guests celebrated well into the evening—ending a timeless and joyful downtown Grand Rapids wedding.
