Sam and Megan hosted an elevated, colorful camp-themed wedding weekend at Camp Blodgett, set along the shores of Lake Michigan. Blending summer-camp nostalgia with thoughtful design and refined details, their celebration felt joyful, relaxed, and intentionally curated from start to finish.
Weekend Guests & Lakeside Activities
Guests stayed in cabins on-site, creating a true weekend experience. The warm summer day began with frisbee games and swimming meanwhile, Sam and Megan prepared for the celebration.
The Pretty Committee styled Megan’s hair into a soft, elegant ponytail updo. She wore a Spring Sweet gown by Watters Designs, featuring a sweetheart neckline and off-the-shoulder straps. Her look was effortless, romantic, and perfectly suited for a lakeside summer wedding.
Camp Blodgett Ceremony & Blue Hues
Blue-hued floral details were woven throughout the entire day, from the attire worn by bridesmaids and guests to the linens provided by Alpine Events. A stunning ceremony ground arch and floral mantle display designed by Sweetwater Floral added vibrant pops of color. The ceremony framed beautifully against the natural blue backdrop of Lake Michigan. Upon arrival, guests were greeted by a refreshing champagne wall.
Intentional Planning & Guest Experience
Tanya Lynnette Events intentionally planned every thoughtful detail, giving guests an elevated yet welcoming experience. Immediately following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an impressive, sprawling charcuterie board by Lake to the Lake.
To cool off during the hot late-summer evening, popsicles from La Michoacana Ice Cream—served from freezers by AD Bos Vending Services—were a guest favorite. Bowerman’s blueberry donuts and endless drinks from Mugs Party Store kept the celebration going well into the night.
Sunset Portraits & Evening Celebration
As the evening unfolded, guests wandered down to the shoreline to take in a classic Michigan sunset, dipping their toes into the cool waters of Lake Michigan. Back at the retreat center, DJ Chewy brought the energy, making the deck dance floor vibrate with nonstop mixes and keeping the party alive all night long. Courtney Lee Films captured the entire celebration beautifully, creating a wedding film Sam and Megan will treasure for decades to come.
