After ten years together, Brock and Kirstie were married at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, celebrating their love with a wedding that blended timeless, old-world elegance with historic charm. From horse-drawn carriages to sweeping waterfront views, their day felt both romantic and deeply rooted in the traditions that make Mackinac Island weddings so iconic.
Beauty Preparations by Astor’s Salon
The morning began slowly and intentionally with light yoga and morning tea, setting a calm and relaxed tone for the day. Beauty services were provided by Astor’s Salon in one of the Grand Hotel’s vibrant and elegant suites. Kirstie wore her hair in soft, luscious curls and chose a classic lace wedding gown featuring an intricate sheer back—an effortlessly timeless look that perfectly matched the aesthetic of the day.

Ceremony on the Grand Hotel Front Porch
Brock and Kirstie chose to see one another for the first time during the ceremony, which took place on the Grand Hotel front porch. Guests were serenaded by the music of a talented harpist as the ceremony unfolded. Though rain threatened earlier in the day, the skies held just long enough for the intimate ceremony to conclude.
Margaret’s Garden designed the immaculate florals, adding soft color and dimension throughout the space, while Kristin Ashley Events coordinated the day with a seamless blend of grace and thoughtful organization.

Bridal Portraits & Grand Hotel Grounds
With no bridal party, there was ample time to explore the hotel’s stunning grounds for portraits. The enchanted forest, blooming pink hydrangeas, and hidden garden paths provided a variety of romantic backdrops around the Grand Hotel’s meticulously maintained property.

Cottage Parlor Grand Hotel Wedding Reception
The reception took place in the Cottage Parlor, an intimate setting that perfectly balanced warmth and vibrancy. Friends shared heartfelt speeches while a three-piece string band provided soft background music for a meaningful and joy-filled evening. Later in the night, Brock and Kirstie changed into a second look and captured playful flash portraits throughout the iconic hotel halls.
The celebration concluded in the Terrace Room Dance Pavilion, where the couple joined fellow hotel guests for a lively dance party—showing off the ballroom dance skills they had learned together. This Grand Hotel celebration was a true reflection of what makes a Mackinac Island wedding so special: timeless beauty, intentional moments, and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else.
