Pastel Garden Venue3Two Wedding | Grand Rapids, Michigan

Nate and Isabel planned a weekday pastel garden wedding at Venue3Two, a beautifully renovated mansion located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Their celebration blended timeless elegance with personal, faith-filled moments, creating a wedding day that felt both intimate and thoughtfully designed.

Morning Preparations at Venue3Two

For her wedding dress, Isabel chose an elegant and timeless True Society A-line strapless gown featuring a whimsical train. While the gown appeared simple and classic at first glance, its versatility allowed for several outfit changes throughout the day. With a removable skirt and added puff sleeves, Isabel transformed her look for each part of the celebration.

She paired the gown with an Essense of Australia floral appliqué cathedral-length veil, perfectly complementing the pastel garden aesthetic. Dolce Vita heels, Untamed Petals jewelry, and the bridal team from Riley James Salon completed her refined bridal look. The bridesmaids wore mismatched dresses in satin, chiffon, and tulle, adding texture and visual interest to the soft color palette.

Portraits around Venue3Two

The grounds at Venue3Two provided the perfect setting for Isabel and Nathan’s portraits. The afternoon began with an emotional first look between Isabel and her dad, a heartfelt moment filled with happy tears.

Isabel and Nathan then shared their own first look, giving them a quiet moment together before the celebration began. Afterwards, we captured most of their couple and bridal party portraits by the venue’s historic stone front door and iconic staircase.

Floral Design & Garden-Inspired Ceremony

The floral design was inspired by Isabel’s parents’ garden and featured iron lantern-shaped planters throughout the space. Huisman Flowers filled each lantern with pastel blooms and trailing vines, evoking the feeling of a romantic garden setting.

During the ceremony, Isabel’s grandfather led the couple in communion and prayer. As communion was shared, Isabel’s father sang “Love of God” by Brandon Lake and Phil Wickham. Having often led worship at their church, this moment was a meaningful way to honor both family and faith.

Venue3Two Wedding Reception Highlights

A standout detail of the reception was an eight-foot flower wall handcrafted by Isabel’s parents. The installation served as the seating chart and later transformed into the dessert display. Intimate moments like a private cake cutting and a private last dance added heartfelt touches to the evening.

The clean, minimalist white cake by Holland Cakery was cut using glassware from Isabel’s parents’ own wedding. Guests enjoyed dinner by Gilmore Catering, followed by late-night pretzels from The Knot Spot.

Thoughtful details and trusted vendors brought the entire day together, including Truly Engaging stationery, rentals from Special Occasions, Aleisha B Videography, and music by Visionary Events. Every element worked seamlessly to create a timeless and meaningful Venue3two wedding day.
