Classic Felt Estate Wedding | Saugatuck, Michigan

As a Michigan wedding photographer for over fifteen years, I will always love a Felt Estate wedding. Jon and Annika’s wedding was a celebration of elegance, joy, and meaningful connection. Set against the stunning grounds of this Saugatuck, Michigan estate, their day blended timeless style with thoughtful personal touches.

Getting Ready & Details at The Felt Estate

The morning began in The Felt Estate’s elegant bridal suite. The classic black-and-white palette carried through every detail, creating a cohesive and timeless aesthetic for the day. Alexis Berens styled Annika’s soft curls, followed by Makeup Artistry by Tracy, before she slipped into her simple silk V-neck gown by Spring Sweet. Jon’s crisp white tuxedo created a striking contrast against the bridal party dressed in black, complementing the day’s monochromatic palette.

First Looks & Personalized Touches

Annika shared emotional first looks with both Jon and her father around the estate. A surprise from Annika’s father added a thoughtful touch: a personalized license plate on a vintage red convertible, which served as the backdrop for first look portraits and later transported Annika and her father to the aisle for an unforgettable entrance. Following both first looks, we took couple, wedding party, and family portraits in multiple locations across the property.

Ceremony Highlights & Music

Christie Start designed lush floral arrangements featuring white roses, tulips, and plenty of greenery, which adorned the front of the chapel and the ladies’ carefully curated bouquets. Music played an integral role in the wedding day. Renaissance Strings provided a beautiful soundtrack during the ceremony, while harpist Ellie Sophia Music serenaded guests during the open-air cocktail hour, creating a romantic and sophisticated atmosphere.

Dinner, Dessert & Honoring Parents

After cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a delectable dinner from Gilmore Catering, followed by dessert from Cakabakery West and a gelato bar. Honoring their parents, Jon and Annika invited them to cut the cake alongside the couple, reliving their own wedding memories while creating new ones.

Sunset Portraits & Dancing at The Felt Estate

The evening included intimate sunset portraits before the night concluded with a lively dance floor animated by Bee Entertainment. It was the perfect celebration to cap off their classic black-and-white wedding at The Felt Estate in Saugatuck, Michigan.
